About the Position:

As a key member of Windstream Communications, the Field Technician plays an essential role in delivering top-notch telecommunications services to our diverse clientele, including residential customers, small enterprises, and large corporations.

Our Field Technicians are passionate about technology and dedicated to establishing connections that matter. By providing expert technical support and exceptional customer service, they foster lasting relationships with clients.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain business communication systems, including telephony, internet, and video services.
  • Utilize tools and testing equipment to service various technologies and network configurations.
  • Advise clients on products and services that meet their communication requirements.
  • Perform work in both underground and overhead environments, which may involve climbing poles and using ladders.
  • Safely operate and keep the company service vehicle in a clean and organized condition.
  • Engage in both indoor and outdoor work settings.
  • Complete necessary safety training and adhere to safety protocols and regulations.

You will report directly to the Local Operations Manager.


Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Basic technical and mathematical skills.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • The ability to differentiate colors for color-coded wiring.
  • Capability to handle equipment with a maximum load of 275 lbs.
  • The physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights.
  • Successful completion of required safety training.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Readiness to respond to after-hours service calls.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in customer service or sales is advantageous. Additional certifications or training relevant to the role, along with a two-year technical degree in computers or electronics, or equivalent work experience, are also beneficial.


Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • This position is safety-sensitive.

Physical Demands:

This role involves:

  • Continuous standing and walking.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Frequent climbing, bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying.
  • Regular use of hand and power tools, as well as test equipment.
