About the Role

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our team in Buffalo, NY. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work under the direction of a licensed engineer on various projects, including new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical engineering systems for building construction, including lighting, power distribution, communications, and telecommunication systems.
  • Under limited supervision, analyze engineering documents and layout systems to identify components and parts, and research and respond to design issues.
  • Participate in value engineering sessions with the Architectural/Engineering team to recommend improvements and optimize quality, coordination, and production efforts.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical code to design and implement building power distribution systems and circuiting.
  • Assist in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals, and gather information to respond to RFI's and review of change orders.
  • Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, and travel as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (Electrical Systems focus) from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Current PE in the United States preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
  • Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit) required.
