Position Overview

The Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering is responsible for overseeing all members of the Electrical Engineering team, fostering a dynamic and positive workplace atmosphere. This role enables you to collaborate with colleagues across the organization to achieve and surpass departmental objectives, ensuring ongoing success and advancement within the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervises a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers to achieve project objectives and timelines.
  • Contributes directly to project work.
  • Offers electrical engineering insights and technical assistance during engineering reviews, strategic initiatives, and project execution.
  • Aids in resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Oversees cost estimations for units and development, assisting in identifying reliable and cost-effective material sources.
  • Guarantees timely project completion by working with other leaders to develop accurate schedules and swiftly resolve issues.
  • Ensures that workflow within the Electrical Engineering department is clearly defined and documented in work instructions and procedures, continuously seeking improvements in efficiency while adhering to change control protocols.
  • Establishes and maintains technical standards for reviews, documentation, and design processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field.
  • Previous experience in electrical engineering management is advantageous.
  • Proficient in specifying and sizing motors, drives, circuit protection devices, wiring, and power supplies.
  • Experienced in designing PLC control system architectures and networks, including I/O module selections.
  • Knowledgeable in process control instrumentation for measuring vacuum, pressure, temperature, and flow.
  • Familiar with PI and PID closed-loop control systems.
  • Skilled in PLC programming using Ladder Logic, Function Block, and Structured Text techniques.
  • Acquainted with common industrial networks and protocols such as EtherNet/IP, CIP, and IO Link.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation PLCs and HMI platforms is required.
  • Siemens S7 experience is a plus.
  • Familiar with Wonderware (InTouch or System Platform) HMI software.
  • Background in VFD and Servo control applications.
  • Experience with Electro-Hydraulic control systems and techniques.
  • Capable of installing and configuring Windows-based PC software.
  • Ability to interpret NFPA format electrical schematics.
  • Experience with Solidworks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 79, UL508A, and NEC codes and principles.
  • Familiar with standard testing equipment and meters.
  • Proficient in PC application software development for industrial controls, utilizing Visual Studio and the DotNet platform in C# or Visual Basic.
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks Electrical 2D, 3D, AutoCAD design software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation Control System Hardware (PLCs, switches, etc.).

This position may require extended hours, including weekends on occasion, and may involve short or extended travel as necessary. International travel may also be required.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $170,000 based on experience.
