Position Overview
This role involves contributing to a dynamic team under the guidance of a licensed engineer. You will engage in various projects, including new builds and renovations across sectors such as education, healthcare, sports, corporate, and technology.
Key Responsibilities
As an integral part of our team, your tasks will include:
- Creating detailed construction drawings and specifications for electrical systems.
- Designing lighting, power distribution, and communication systems with minimal supervision, focusing on healthcare, educational, and commercial sectors.
- Reviewing engineering documents and analyzing layouts for system components.
- Collaborating in value engineering discussions with the Architectural/Engineering team.
- Applying electrical codes to ensure compliance in power distribution designs.
- Proposing enhancements to improve quality and streamline processes.
- Assisting in the evaluation of shop drawings and project submittals.
- Gathering information for responding to RFIs and reviewing change orders.
- Conducting site visits to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
- Traveling as necessary for project requirements.
- Maintaining a professional appearance during client interactions.
- Performing additional related duties as required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a focus on Electrical Systems from an ABET accredited institution.
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.
- Preferred: LEED accreditation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Proficiency in engineering design software, particularly Revit.
