Pediatric Transplant and Cellular Therapy Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Transplant and Cellular Therapy Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care services to children 0-21 years in an in-patient Pediatric Unit in collaboration with the attending physician, fellows, and residents.

Responsibilities
  • Perform physical exams, collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribe appropriate interventions and medications, coordinate the care and discharge of patients, and provide direct patient care services.
  • Contribute to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and provide leadership to the organization.
Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited MSN or DNP Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program (NP) or Graduate of ARC accredited Physician Assistant Program, prefer Master's Program (PA).
  • National certification to treat pediatrics, PNP-AC (NP) or PA-C (PA).
  • Current uninhibited RN license issued by the NCBON with authorization to practice as an NP (NP) or Current uninhibited license issued by the NCMB with authorization to practice as a PA (PA).
  • Experience as pediatric advanced practice provider for at a minimum of 1 year preferred, preferably in the acute care setting.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Able to clearly articulate scope of practice, and practices within those guidelines as a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant in the state of North Carolina and within the Duke University Health System.
  • Able to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively to solve complex problems.
  • Able to communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others.
