Job Summary

HMSHost is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Operations to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving branch-wide profitability and operations excellence at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Sr Director Operations in directing the daily operations of the location and ensure all company/brand standards and safety guidelines are met.
  2. Facilitate the development and implementation of the annual budget, and work with branch-level management to ensure budgeted sales and profit goals are achieved.
  3. EFFECTIVELY PLAN, ORGANIZE, PRIORITIZE AND ASSIGN BUSINESS ACTIVITIES.
  4. RESOLVES MOST QUESTIONS AND PROBLEMS AND REFERS ONLY THE MOST COMPLEX ISSUES TO THE SDO.
  5. Ensure all managers know and follow opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/procedures.
  6. Interviews job candidates, makes hiring, termination, advancement, promotion or any other status change decisions for associates within the branch.
  7. Actively ensures managers adhere to mandated rest breaks and meal periods.
  8. Ensures compliance with wellness and safety procedures and guidelines, builds awareness about wellness and safety, and reports any safety concerns to the SDO/DO/Zone Leader.
  9. Ensures all managers understand and perform all Health and Safety activities as specified in the Manager's Guide to Associate Health and Safety.
  10. Reads and understands financial and operational data and reports to monitor progress towards the branch, zone, and restaurant goals and assigns associates to meet those objectives.
  11. Ensures company and branch diversity and inclusion philosophy is understood and actively executed within the restaurant.
  12. Uses good judgment and broad discretion to resolve customer and associate questions and problems.
  13. Ensures compliance with all company adult beverage policies, and ensures all restaurant staff understand and follow AB procedures.
  14. Ensures display areas are appropriately clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
  15. Ensures all equipment is in good working order.
  16. Ensures that the company has most current contact information for all associates working in the restaurant.

Requirements

  • Ability to work shifts during various operating days and hours each week; during opening, during busy day parts, and during closing to monitor restaurant associates' and managers' work activities during these different days and times.
  • Knowledge of all applicable federal, state, and local sanitary, safety, and health standards, and all procedures and protocols to comply with HACCP standards.
