Job Summary

As an IT Specialist at Kerzner International, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to computer system users. This includes answering questions or resolving computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from a remote location. You will also provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems, ensuring they are in compliance with Kerzner International's standards of operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software.
  • Maintain a record of daily data communication transactions, problems, and remedial action taken, and installation activities.
  • Read technical manuals, confer with users, and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Confer with staff and users to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
  • Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
  • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
  • Prepare evaluations of software or hardware, and recommend improvements or upgrades.
  • Inspect equipment and read order sheets to prepare for delivery to users.
  • Answer users' inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems.
  • Observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
  • Support the information system function within the resorts using appropriate systems management procedures and practices to ensure the operating effectiveness and integrity of data.
  • Assist the Director, IT in the entire network maintenance, including administration and documentation of computer networks, telephone, and cable TV networks.
  • Assist the Director, IT in systems management and new projects.
  • Use and handle IT equipment with care and according to the Director's instructions.
  • Attend briefings and meetings as requested.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned. Support and maintenance of I.T. infrastructure including telecommunications.
Requirements
  • Preferred previous experience working in IT and/or within a resort environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills, even in times of high demand, low resources, or unhappy users.
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues into terms easily understood by end users.
  • Proficiency in Help Desk software, ticketing systems, and endpoint management tools.
  • Relevant entry-level certifications preferred: CompTIA ITF+, A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft MTA, ITIL v3 Foundation.
