Job Summary

The Revenue Cycle Director is responsible for overseeing the successful management of all functions related to insurance and self-pay billing and collections performed in the central billing office, as well as authorizations and referrals. This role will assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, objectives, and initiatives of IMS to ensure financial stability and support the delivery of high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and objectives for the billing office to ensure financial stability and high-quality care.
  • Manage all billing functions, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered.
  • Oversee the daily activities of the business office, including front-end coding, billing, claim review, denial management, authorizations, referrals, collections, and payments.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President, Revenue Cycle to define daily revenue expectations, discuss opportunities, and resolve challenges.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance reviews for staff and providers.
  • Manage and train billing office staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Respond to provider and staff requests accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Address patient concerns and escalations promptly and professionally.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence within the billing office.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management/Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification preferred.
  • 5 years' experience in revenue cycle management, specifically in a large provider medical group practice with knowledge of physician billing and insurance claim follow-up and denial management.
  • 3-5 years of direct management experience of a team.
  • Financial management skills, including data analysis, budgeting, auditing, and forecasting.
  • Basic accounting knowledge, including A/R analysis, staffing, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead multi-disciplinary teams and projects.
  • Working knowledge of electronic billing systems and governmental billing requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing electronic healthcare systems.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on a management team.
