Job Summary:

As a key member of the Mimbres Memorial Hospital leadership team, the Director of Quality and Performance Improvement will play a vital role in driving the organization's strategic plan forward. This individual will be responsible for facilitating alignment between improvement initiatives and the organization's goals, as well as directing the day-to-day execution of strategies and tactics necessary to successfully improve outcomes and results.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality and risk management, with experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting. They will work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams to identify areas for improvement and develop processes to address key performance indicators.

This role will also involve serving as an internal consultant to administration, staff, and physicians on regulatory, process improvement, performance monitoring, and statistical analysis. The Director will focus on improving healthcare value and quality, including clinical outcomes, patient experience, patient safety, costs, revenue, productivity, efficiency, employee and physician satisfaction, and process reliability.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting and reporting Core Measures, ACO/MIPS/MACRA, and meaningful use measures
  • Coordinating and managing Quality Management meetings, maintaining minutes, and making recommendations to the committee
  • Conducting internal audits and risk analysis as determined by the Quality Committee
  • Participating in nursing and physician peer review processes and chart reviews
  • Managing performance improvement projects, flow, and alignment to ensure milestones and key performance indicators are met
  • Evaluating and documenting the effectiveness of the quality management system
  • Designing, coordinating, and maintaining patient safety and risk management programs

The successful candidate will have a strong analytical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think critically and solve problems. They will be a strategic thinker with a passion for improving healthcare quality and patient safety.

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse required

3+ years experience in a hospital facility required, Quality/Risk leadership experience preferred

Master's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a similar field of study with a strong analytical base preferred

CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) preferred

Travel is infrequent

Understanding of healthcare, strong accounting knowledge, and experience

Good communicator, excellent in Excel, and critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
