Job Summary:

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse I to join our Women's Health Clinic team. As an LPN I, you will play a vital role in providing individualized, goal-directed, and family-centered patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe and effective care to patients, interacting with other healthcare team members to achieve desired results and outcomes.
  • Deliver care in multiple physical locations under MUSC Health, utilizing your skills and expertise to meet the needs of our patients.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and excellent guest relations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, utilizing excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  • Minimum of six months experience as an LPN required.
  • Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state.
  • A current CPR card, either an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card or an American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card.
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to patient-centered care philosophy, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Ability to climb stairs, work indoors, and work outside in temperature extremes.
  • Ability to work from elevated areas, work in confined/cramped spaces, and perform job functions from kneeling positions.
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, and perform gross motor activities with fingers and hands.
  • Ability to reach overhead, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, and fully use both legs.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted, and exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
