Job Title: Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

West Virginia Department of Education is seeking a qualified Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide health services under the supervision of the certified school nurse.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic and specialized health care procedures, including lifting, transferring, mobility, toileting, feeding, and supervising children.
  • Assist with health file review for all students and other tasks assigned by the certified school nurse.
  • Conduct school-based screenings for students, such as vision and dental checks when necessary.
  • Work effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds and those with special needs.
Requirements:
  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of West Virginia with an unrestricted license.
  • Must be adult and child CPR/AED/First Aid certified.
  • Must have knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
Benefits:
  • $139.25 Daily Rate - Salary based on experience and education level per Monroe County BOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
