Role Summary

The Finance Staff Accountant / Analyst is integral to the financial functions within our organization. This role encompasses the maintenance of precise financial documentation, aiding in the generation of financial reports, and providing support to the Finance Manager in various analytical and planning activities. The successful candidate will possess a solid grasp of accounting principles and practices, with a background in financial management.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting
  • Generate accurate financial documentation, including general ledger entries, monthly reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Assist in compiling monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Collaborate with the Finance Team in the creation and oversight of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Support the preparation of regional forecasts and variance analyses.
  • Offer insights and recommendations based on budgetary performance.
  • Examine financial data to pinpoint trends, variances, and opportunities for ongoing enhancement.
Accounts Payable/Receivable
  • Assist in monitoring accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions.
  • Work alongside Customer Service Representatives to reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies.
  • Oversee and manage Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) metrics.
Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Conduct account reconciliations as necessary.
  • Adhere to internal financial controls and organizational policies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and insights.
Special Projects
  • Assist Senior Leadership and the Finance Manager with special projects and analyses.
  • Perform additional finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: 1-3 years in accounting and finance roles.

Skills
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Working Environment

This position is based in a dynamic distribution center environment. The role may require occasional travel for meetings and training. Candidates should be prepared to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting.
