Position: Finance Staff Accountant / Analyst

Location: Elwood, Illinois Distribution Center

Reports to: Finance Manager

Experience: 1-3 years

Position Overview

The Finance Staff Accountant / Analyst plays a crucial role in the financial operations of our Elwood, Illinois Distribution Centers. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, and supporting the Finance Manager in various financial planning and analysis tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with experience managing

Financial Reporting

· Prepare accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, monthly reconciliations, and financial statements.

· Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Budgeting & Forecasting

· Support the Finance Team in development and management of the annual budget and forecast.

· Assist in the preparation of region forecast and variance analysis.

· Provide insights and recommendations based on budgetary performance.

· Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Accounts Payable/Receivable

· Assist and monitor accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions and process.

· Work with Customer Service Reps (CSR) to reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.

· Monitor and manage Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) metrics and process.

Internal Controls & Compliance

· Perform Account Reconciliation as needed.

· Adhere to internal financial controls and company policies.

· Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

· Support audits by providing necessary documentation and feedback.

Projects

· Assist Senior Leadership and Finance Manager on special projects and analysis.

· Other finance duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, or related field.

Experience

· 1-3 years of experience in accounting and finance.

Skills

· Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Attention to detail and ability to work independently and with team.

Working Conditions

· This position is based in our Elwood, Illinois Distribution Center.

· The role will require occasional travel to other locations for meetings, training and support.

· Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
