The Chief Financial Officer at Roto Group LLC plays a pivotal role within the foremost design-build firm catering to museums, science centers, and themed entertainment across the nation. This position is responsible for overseeing the financial and administrative functions essential to the organization’s success. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO is crucial in shaping the financial and IT strategies, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, and managing risks associated with contracts and legal obligations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Design and maintain financial models and systems to evaluate and project company performance.
  • Offer strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Track project financial outcomes against budgets, pinpointing areas for enhancement or risk management.
  • Lead the ongoing forecasting process, collaborating with the team to create precise and attainable projections.
  • Prepare regular financial forecasts to inform decision-making and resource distribution.
  • Establish financial controls to ensure compliance with financial strategies.
Financial Reporting
  • Supervise the generation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Guarantee compliance with all regulatory reporting obligations and accounting standards.
  • Present financial reports to senior management and the Board of Directors, offering insights into financial performance and trends.
Cash Management
  • Oversee cash flow to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Enhance working capital by monitoring accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory levels.
  • Implement cash management policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and minimize risk.
Legal Oversight
  • Review and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with legal standards.
  • Provide guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management matters.
  • Collaborate with external legal advisors as necessary to address complex legal issues and mitigate risks.
Risk Management
  • Identify and evaluate financial and legal risks facing the organization, including market, credit, and contractual risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial and legal risks and protect company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, legal regulations, and contractual commitments.
Operations Planning
  • Work with senior management and stakeholders to formulate long-term plans and objectives, including facilities and IT oversight.
  • Provide financial and legal analysis to support strategic decision-making and investment opportunities.
  • Assess potential partnerships, acquisitions, and growth opportunities from both financial and legal viewpoints.
Team Leadership
  • Guide and mentor the finance and legal teams, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for the teams, providing regular feedback and performance assessments.
  • Develop talent within the teams to facilitate succession planning and career growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or JD preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, legal oversight, and contract negotiation, ideally within the construction, design, or related sectors.
  • Strong financial analysis capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
  • Familiarity with legal principles, contract law, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven track record of enhancing financial performance and mitigating legal risks.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, innovative environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in financial management software, legal databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
