About the Role:

We are collaborating with a prominent financial services firm in search of a Chief Financial Officer. This executive role is pivotal in guiding the Firm's Executive Committee, playing a crucial part in the Firm's growth and success through adept financial stewardship.

Key Responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer Include:

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Formulate and execute financial strategies, policies, and plans. Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to the Executive Committee and its various subcommittees.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the annual budgeting process, working in close partnership with department leaders to ensure alignment of financial objectives with the Firm's overarching goals. Conduct regular financial forecasting to pinpoint potential risks and opportunities.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial reports for the leadership team. Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Banking and Investment Oversight: Manage banking relationships and treasury management functions.
  • Tax Strategy and Compliance: Supervise tax planning and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Payroll and Employee Benefits: Oversee bi-weekly payroll processes and manage employee benefits, including retirement plans.
  • Insurance Oversight: Administer insurance coverages beyond group benefits.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and nurture the Finance department, providing direction and support to enhance team performance. Actively participate in Executive Committee meetings.
  • Ethics and Compliance: Ensure that all financial practices and reporting adhere to ethical and legal standards.

Preferred Qualifications of the Chief Financial Officer:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • MBA or CPA designation preferred
  • Experience in legal or professional services is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Aderant software is a plus
