Work Schedule: Full Time

Work Hours: Days; Monday- Friday 8am-5pm; no weekends or holidays

Your Role:

The clinical dietitian employs the nutrition care process to evaluate, assess, diagnose, provide nutritional interventions, and monitor the dietary status and progress of patients. Utilizing the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Standards of Practice, the dietitian actively engages in exceptional customer service and fosters respectful relationships with all stakeholders.

Your Contributions to the Team:

  • Assessment: Conducts nutrition-focused physical evaluations, gathers measurements, reviews medical histories, collects data through interviews, utilizes validated assessment tools, evaluates anthropometric data, and calculates comparative standards.
  • Diagnosis: Analyzes assessment information to identify nutritional risks, issues consistent with malnutrition, knowledge gaps, and/or high-risk health behaviors.
  • Intervention: Provides nutritional recommendations, orders, education, counseling, and/or referrals to additional services.
  • Education and Counseling: Delivers counseling and educational support that reflects appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity for patients requiring nutritional management.
  • Monitoring: Offers follow-up to track progress, adjusting nutrition care plans to achieve dietary goals and enhance outcomes.
  • Leadership: Provides supervised practice experiences for dietetic interns and new staff, staying informed on emerging research and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Communication: Ensures complete, accurate, and timely documentation in electronic health records, adhering to protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaboration: Engages in patient care rounds, creating nutrition care plans in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals, promoting evidence-based nutrition practices.

Qualifications:

Essential Expertise and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field
  • Active registered dietitian status with the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Current active licensure in the state of Florida
