Role Responsibilities:
The Registered Clinical Nutrition Specialist operates under the guidance of the Clinical Nutrition Services Manager to ensure that patients' dietary requirements are effectively addressed. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting patient assessments to determine nutritional needs and developing tailored nutrition care plans.
- Documenting medical nutrition therapy in patient records, ensuring all relevant information is accurately captured.
- Providing timely nutrition education, including food-drug interactions and dietary counseling.
- Performing nutrition assessments and reassessments in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately and adhering to safety protocols.
- Prioritizing nutrition screening for patients requiring immediate attention.
- Participating in multidisciplinary care rounds as per hospital policies.
- Contributing to the development and review of the diet manual, patient menus, and educational materials.
Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian credential from the American Dietetic Association is required.
- Licensure from the State of Florida, Department of Professional Regulation, Board of Medicine is mandatory.
- A degree in Human Nutrition or a related field is essential.
- A minimum of one year of experience in healthcare nutrition management is required.
