Work Schedule: Full-Time

Work Hours: Days; Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; No weekends or holidays

Your Role in Our Community:

The Outpatient Nutrition Specialist employs the nutrition care process to evaluate, diagnose, and provide nutritional interventions while monitoring patient progress. This role adheres to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Standards of Practice and engages in exceptional customer service, fostering respectful relationships with all.

Your Contributions to the Team:

+ Assessment: Conduct thorough nutrition-focused assessments, gather measurements, review medical histories, and collect data through interviews, employing validated tools to evaluate nutritional status.

+ Diagnosis: Analyze assessment data to identify nutrition-related risks and problems, including malnutrition and high-risk health behaviors.

+ Intervention: Provide tailored nutrition recommendations, education, and referrals to other services as needed.

+ Education and Counseling: Deliver culturally sensitive counseling and education to patients requiring nutritional management, utilizing evidence-based theories and motivational interviewing techniques.

+ Monitoring: Ensure follow-up to track progress, adjusting nutrition care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.

+ Leadership: Facilitate supervised practice experiences for dietetic interns and new staff, staying updated on emerging research and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

+ Communication: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records, ensuring effective internal communication.

+ Collaboration: Engage in interdisciplinary patient care rounds, developing nutrition care plans in partnership with healthcare professionals to promote evidence-based nutrition practices.

Qualifications:

Essential Expertise and Experience:

+ Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field

+ Active registered dietitian status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

+ Current licensure in the state of Florida
