ABOUT ASSETS PROTECTION

The Assets Protection (AP) teams are essential in safeguarding our guests, team members, and brand, especially during crisis situations.

They work to protect sales by reducing loss, preventing theft, and investigating incidents to ensure product availability for our guests.

The position of a Security Operations Specialist offers you the opportunity to:

  • Utilize intelligence-driven strategies to ensure the safety of team members and guests.
  • Gain experience in crisis management, safety protocols, and crowd control, providing assistance to both guests and team members.
  • Develop skills in conflict resolution and recovery of stolen merchandise to prevent loss.
  • Effectively use Target's surveillance systems.
  • Document incidents accurately using industry-standard case management tools.

A typical day as a Security Operations Specialist may include:

  • Engaging with guests and team members at the entrance and throughout the store, assisting guests in locating products both in-store and online.
  • Promoting a culture of physical security by maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store, including outdoor areas.
  • Responding to and documenting security incidents with precision.
  • Utilizing escalation tools for guest-related issues to maintain a secure environment.
  • Conducting merchandise recoveries and providing support for apprehensions while adhering to AP policies and guidelines.
  • Preventing theft at the front of the store by performing checks on high-value items.
  • Submitting documentation for all incidents in accordance with AP policies.
  • Understanding and effectively using the video surveillance system.
  • Training team members on merchandise protection strategies and execution audits.
  • Implementing shortage action plans set by AP leadership to minimize loss.
  • Modeling safe work practices while maintaining a clean environment for guests and team members.
  • Delivering service and shopping experiences that meet guest needs.
  • Exemplifying a culture of ethical behavior, safety, and compliance.
  • Performing other duties as required by business needs.
