Job Description

K12, a Stride Company, is committed to providing high-quality, personalized education experiences for students. We are seeking a highly qualified Computer Science Teacher to join our team of passionate educators.

Job Summary

The Computer Science Teacher will be responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. This includes providing instruction, support, and guidance to students, managing the learning process, and focusing on individual student needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students in an online environment
  • Provide support and guidance to students, including answering questions and addressing concerns
  • Manage the learning process, including tracking student progress and adjusting instruction as needed
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum and instructional best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • State certification in Computer Science (6-12)
  • Ability to clear required background checks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pedagogical knowledge of computer science and ability to apply critical thinking
  • Knowledge of state content standards and ability to align with K12 curriculum
  • Ability to adapt to changing technology and instructional platforms
  • Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
Compensation and Benefits

Stride, Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $20-$30/hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Eligible employees may also receive a bonus. A robust benefits package, including health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off, is also available.

This is a part-time position, requiring 20+ hours per week. Ability to work independently and maintain a professional home office without distraction is essential. Occasional travel may be required for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and other school functions.
