Vantage Elevation, LLC is a leading independent manufacturer of elevator components and systems. Our company is comprised of eight business units, including GAL Manufacturing, which is looking to fill the position of Manufacturing Quality Inspector.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Inspector to join our GAL Manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all Quality Control Inspection activities, including incoming inspection of purchased materials, first article inspection, and final inspection audits.

Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming inspection of purchased materials, including verification of special processes, supplier Certificate of Conformance (C of C) or Certificate of Acceptance (C of A), visual and dimensional inspections, etc.
  • Perform first article inspection to validate new tooling, new assembly processes, etc.
  • Perform 1st piece inspection to verify proper machine-tool & die set up on production runs
  • Perform in-process audits of work cell areas focusing on critical assembly steps
  • Perform final inspection audits to ensure pick list/work orders are complete and accurate to prevent short shipments or wrong part order errors
  • Create non-conformance reports (NCRs) to document and control non-conforming material
  • Assist with corrective action report (CAR) process, such as verifying corrective & preventive actions
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities
Requirements
  • QC technical experience preferable in metal fabrication, industrial manufacturing, and electronic assembly
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an ISO 9001:2008 with an emphasis in metal fabrication, machining, electrical components, printed circuit board (PCB-PWB) assembly, and hardware assembly - automotive and/or aerospace experience a plus
  • Familiarity with QMS
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere directly or indirectly with all employees
  • Must have experience with inspection tools, gages & techniques - such as FAI, 1st Piece, Sample Planning, GD&T, No-Go Gages, Calipers, Micrometers, Measuring instruments, etc., CPK and Statistical Control Charting (SPC) a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Bilingual is a plus
