Program Director Job Description

KRUA 88.1 FM, the student radio station at the University of Alaska Anchorage, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Program Director. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement programming strategies, train and supervise staff and volunteers, and collaborate with other editors to meet deadlines and work cooperatively on projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement programming strategies to engage audiences and promote KRUA's mission
  • Train and supervise staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality content and efficient operations
  • Collaborate with other editors to meet deadlines and work cooperatively on projects
  • Promote KRUA through social media and other marketing channels

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, broadcasting, or a related field
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Experience with radio station operations and audio production
  • Proficiency in Adobe Audition or Audacity audio editing software
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and Google Applications
  • Familiarity with NexGen and Selector programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience in radio station operations, audio production, or a related field
  • Familiarity with university policies and procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Salary and Benefits

This is a part-time student staff position paying $12.77 per hour. The University of Alaska provides excellent benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and access to campus resources.
