Economic Growth Director for Alaska's Tribal Communities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Economic Growth Director to join our team at the University of Alaska. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in driving economic growth and development in Alaska's tribal communities.
Job DescriptionThis is a dynamic opportunity to lead innovative initiatives that support small businesses and entrepreneurs in rural and tribal areas. You will work closely with tribal leaders, business owners, and investors to facilitate funding deals, resolve conflicts, and foster collaboration.
You will be responsible for reviewing financial reports and market data to assess investment opportunities, ensuring they align with both the program's goals and the specific needs of tribal businesses. Your expertise in finance, business administration, or a related field will be essential in synthesizing complex financial information and preparing reports or presentations for stakeholders.
This role requires strong negotiation and communication skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments while driving positive, impactful change in Alaskan communities.
You will also develop and implement policies that guide the program's operations, helping to drive growth and sustainability for tribal businesses. Managing multiple projects simultaneously is a key aspect of this job, requiring coordination with various stakeholders to meet deadlines and achieve strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of financial expertise, experience working with Alaska's Native communities, and a strong connection to the state's entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, business administration, or a related area
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in finance, business administration, or a related field

This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on education and experience.
