We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Seafood Order Coordinator to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our seafood department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate ordering, inventory management, and merchandising of seafood products.
Key Responsibilities- Ordering and Inventory Management: Replenish products through proper buying procedures, order seafood products, and maintain appropriate back stock levels.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner, control spoilage/shrink, and achieve turn goals.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
- Merchandising and Display: Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
- Store Operations: Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensure accuracy of signs and pricing, and maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, follow and comply with established procedures, and perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
- Education and Experience: 12+ months retail experience, preferably in a seafood or grocery environment.
- Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of seafood products, working knowledge and application of all seafood merchandising expectations, strong basic math skills, and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day, and work in a wet and cold environment.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency, handle knives and other cutting equipment, and use tools and equipment such as box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
