Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning is seeking qualified candidates to fill adjunct positions for lecture courses in the School of Planning. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars in the following subjects: Urban Agriculture, Horticulture Science, Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, Hemp and Medical Cannabis, Plant Morphology, Horticultural Chemistry, and Herbaceous Ornamentals.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct and teach assigned courses and seminars.
  • May serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of academic responsibilities.
  • Review and respond to University-related communications in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Horticulture, Agriculture, or Environmental Science, related to specific course content.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • Documented work experience in a field related to specific course content.
  • Demonstrated command of sustainable principles relevant to specific course content.
