Job SummaryWellstar Health System, Inc. seeks an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Vascular Ultrasound Specialist to join our team. As a vital member of our Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality vascular ultrasound exams, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform vascular ultrasound exams: Use advanced technology to capture high-quality images of blood vessels and diagnose conditions such as deep vein thrombosis, varicose veins, and peripheral artery disease.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams: Work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
- Maintain equipment and supplies: Ensure that all ultrasound equipment is properly calibrated and maintained, and that supplies are adequately stocked to meet patient needs.
- Develop and maintain expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in vascular ultrasound technology and techniques, and participate in ongoing education and training opportunities.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required; Reg Cardiac Sonographer - CCI certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in echocardiography required.
