The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring efficient and professional diagnostic procedures, and assisting with scheduling and supply management.

Job Summary:

The Chief Technologist is a critical role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of diagnostic imaging procedures. As the primary point of contact for employees, patients, and visitors, this individual must possess exceptional customer service skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor to staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care and accurate diagnoses
  • Supervise and coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts, maintaining a smooth workflow and maximizing equipment utilization
  • Assist with employee performance management, including issuing warnings and recommending further action as needed
  • Manage department productivity, adhering to operational standards and ensuring timely completion of quality checks and other duties
  • Participate in hiring, training, and evaluating Imaging Services staff, ensuring they meet established timeframes and competencies
  • Maintain departmental records, including manuals, administrative files, and staff educational records
  • Collaborate with physicians and other hospital departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology
  • 3 years of experience in diagnostic imaging, preferably with 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to function independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to explain complex information to patients, families, and colleagues in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and accurate diagnoses
  • Competence in modality-specific procedures, patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings options, and paid time off.
