Key Responsibilities:
The Investigator will undertake investigative duties that include adhering to operational protocols while evaluating gathered information, conducting interviews with acquaintances and family members, collecting pertinent documents from law enforcement and credit institutions, and summarizing findings for our federal government clients.
The Investigator's responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
- Executing background investigations to assess the employment eligibility of individuals requiring access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.
- The primary casework will support the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), with assignments for other contracts based on performance and business requirements.
- Conducting in-person interviews with subjects, as well as their neighbors, employers, friends, and family.
- Performing record searches at police departments, courthouses, educational institutions, and medical/mental health facilities.
- Documenting all collected information in a clear and concise report using an authorized government computer system.
- Completing additional duties as assigned.
- Traveling locally and outside the primary work area, with local travel comprising approximately 15-20% of the work week.
- Participating in Temporary Duty Assignments several times a year, lasting a few days.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in direct field investigations, specifically conducting DCSA/NBIB background investigations within the last 18 months.
- Candidates with four years of general work experience or a bachelor's degree may be considered.
- Possession of an active favorable TS clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity.
- Proven metrics in quality, timeliness, and productivity.
- Intermediate typing skills (40+ WPM recommended) and proficiency in computer usage.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone, with a high degree of accuracy in recording, reading, and transcribing information.
- Capability to perform tasks that prevent errors and omissions, maintaining visual acuity for close and distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment for computer work.
- Ability to write for extended periods, meet attendance and punctuality expectations, pay attention to detail, and interact professionally with others.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential. Candidates with poor driving records will not be considered.
- Required to maintain sufficient motor vehicle insurance, specifics of which may vary over time.
- Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals and personalities in a professional and effective manner.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
