Job Summary:
The Child Care Regulation Inspector III will be responsible for monitoring and investigating child-care facilities throughout the State of Texas. This includes performing facility inspections, conducting investigations, providing training to child-care providers, and convening pre-application meetings for child-care facility applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor licensed and registered child-care facilities to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Conduct investigations into complaints, incidents, and reports of minimum standards violations.
- Evaluate new applications for child-care facilities to issue licenses and registrations.
- Identify risk and recommend enforcement actions to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children in regulated child-care facilities.
- Provide training and technical assistance to child-care providers on issues related to minimum standards.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Texas laws relating to regulation of childcare and child abuse/neglect.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to initiate and participate in enforcement of regulations concerning child-care facilities.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to de-escalate situations with tact and diplomacy.
