The Phlebotomist Registrar at Frederick Health plays a vital role in the accurate collection and management of patient specimens, while also overseeing patient demographic information and insurance details. This position is essential in minimizing financial risks and ensuring seamless service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately collects specimens and adheres to established protocols to preserve specimen quality.
  • Inputs patient demographic data and addresses any discrepancies in test orders.
  • Confirms insurance coverage and gathers necessary cost-sharing payments from patients.
  • Engages with patients effectively, showcasing outstanding customer service skills.
  • Conducts bleeding time assessments in accordance with CLIA standards.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; completion of a phlebotomy training program is preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification is required.
  • Certification from an accredited phlebotomy training program is preferred.
  • Prior experience in phlebotomy is advantageous.
  • A minimum of one year of customer service experience is essential.
  • At least one year of experience in patient registration or billing is preferred.
