The Veterinary Assistant plays a vital role in the operation of an animal facility, supporting the medical support team in accordance with Mission Veterinary Partners' hospital policy and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in daily duties for clinic care, including maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Participate in special cleaning duties and provide exceptional client care by scheduling appointments, taking payments, and check-ins.
- Maintain excellent client communication and record all pertinent medical, client, and case-related information in the patient record accurately.
- Review medical records, estimates, or discharge instructions with clients and provide patient care under the direction of a DVM.
- Answer phones in a courteous and informative way, demonstrating patience and composure in stressful situations.
- Proficiency in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills.
- Ability to stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis and handle a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence around pets and mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform duties proficiently.
