The System Senior Director, Nursing Excellence, Magnet Strategy & Professional Governance is a key leadership position at Carilion Clinic, responsible for driving the organization's nursing excellence initiatives and professional governance strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nursing professional practice models that drive high-quality patient care
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Magnet recognition program, Pathways to Excellence Program, and Professional Governance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess enterprise readiness and develop improvement strategies to meet program criteria
  • Lead the development and completion of Magnet & Pathways re-designation applications, annual reports, and site visit surveys
  • Serve as a programmatic and operational leader for Magnet, Pathways to Excellence, and Professional Governance
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master's in Nursing, Healthcare, Administration, or related field required
  • 5-7 years of relevant progressive leadership experience in a Magnet organization
  • Current regulatory, accreditation, and Joint Commission experience
  • Commonwealth of Virginia Nursing License required; Certification from specialty nursing organization preferred
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to interpret and communicate data
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills; solid skill set with regards to using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
