About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at ForKids. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing mental health assessment and support to families in our emergency shelter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis intervention counseling to adults and children as needed.
  • Complete mental health intakes for all families in our shelter.
  • Develop and facilitate psychoeducational groups for emergency shelter participants.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with community mental health providers.
  • Coordinate mental health services with collaborating agencies.
  • Provide individual parenting consultation as needed.
  • Support summer programming and provide task supervision to program interns as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Human Services, Social Work, or Psychology.
  • Master's degree and experience with providing clinical services preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical diagnostic methods and approved modalities of counseling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Valid driver's license with no more than three minor moving violations and/or accidents combined within the last 3 years.
