Job Summary:

The Nashua School District is seeking a highly skilled Civil Rights Compliance Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our district's leadership, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local civil rights laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinating and monitoring the district's compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines that prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, race, creed, religion, color, national origin, veteran or military status, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, or disability.

Overseeing prevention efforts to avoid civil rights violations from occurring.

Implementing the district's discrimination/Title IX complaint procedures and regularly reviewing and updating the district's civil rights policies to reflect changes in laws and regulations.

Investigating complaints alleging discrimination or harassment based on protected classes and working to resolve complaints through mediation, investigation, and implementation of corrective actions.

Coordinating annual training for all staff on Title IX, sexual harassment, and discrimination.

Collaborating with the Director of Human Resources on employee relations matters.

Conducting regular assessments and audits to identify potential compliance issues.

Maintaining detailed records of all complaints, investigations, and resolutions.

Preparing and submitting required reports to the Office of Civil Rights.

Fostering an inclusive environment that respects and values diversity and inclusion.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in human resources, legal studies, or a related field required, Master's degree preferred.

Minimum of 3 years' experience in compliance, human resources, legal affairs, or a related field required.

In-depth knowledge of civil rights laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local level required.

Experience working with Title IX required.

Experience working in civil rights advocacy or a related field preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment preferred.
