Job Title: Project Accountant

Join our team at A-C-T Environmental & Infrastructure as a Project Accountant, where you will play a vital role in the Company's Accounting and Finance Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of Project Accounting, from project setup and billing to maintenance and closeout.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up projects in the Deltek Vision system, ensuring compliance with established procedures and optimizing workflow, analytical insights, and administrative effort.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers regarding contract and contract modifications, approvals, and additional services related to revenue generation and billing.
  • Assist in preparing initial project schedules, including WBS structures, based on scope of work, contract overhead, and billing requirements.
  • Implement management systems and processes related to project planning, execution, and closeout.
  • Assist Project Managers with project financial tracking and controls in Deltek Vision financial management and forecasting tools.
  • Maintain project contracts, supplemental agreements, task work orders, and other relevant documents within the Vision software.
  • Perform program-level analyses on project cost information and budget utilization, developing trends for financial aspects of projects.
  • Assist Project Managers in preparing project recovery plans for projects not meeting profit goals.
  • Prepare draft billing packages for review by Project Managers, including gathering supporting documents and client required monthly progress reports.
  • Work with Project Managers to modify draft billing packages, resulting in final billing packages and related documents for client submission.
  • Monitor A/R for projects and notify Project Managers of outstanding invoices.
  • Assist with special projects and other related duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience with Deltek Vision is a plus.
  • Experience working with an engineering or construction firm is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Acute attention to detail, professional attitude, and reliability.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts accurately and timely.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or project accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting procedures is preferred.
  • Experience in the Environmental Industry is preferred.
