POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is pivotal in ensuring the consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing GMP systems, validating processes, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Collaborating closely with the Plant Manager and Corporate EHS Manager, the Quality Assurance Supervisor will also oversee safety and environmental initiatives within the facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish and validate quality processes by defining product specifications and quality attributes; monitor production metrics; document findings; and develop quality assurance procedures.

• Enhance product quality through regular audits, investigation of customer feedback, and collaboration with management to refine manufacturing and training methodologies.

• Prepare responses to customer inquiries, including audits and quality statements, ensuring clarity and compliance.

• Lead the maintenance and updates of HACCP programs, facilitating scheduled team meetings to ensure adherence.

• Oversee the calibration and maintenance of in-house analytical testing equipment, liaising with vendors for technical support.

• Develop and uphold a Food Safety/Defense Program that aligns with USDA/FDA standards, including the Food Safety Modernization Act.

• Complete Certificate of Analysis (COA) documentation as required.

• In collaboration with the VP Operations, manage communications with USDA-APHIS, USDA-FSIS, State Department of Agriculture, and FDA.

• Coordinate quality assurance initiatives with other QA Managers to ensure consistency across operations.

• Conduct regular safety and environmental audits to maintain compliance and promote a safe working environment.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
• Manage customer and regulatory audits, developing corrective action plans in conjunction with Plant Managers.

• Ensure supplier compliance with relevant regulations, verifying proper labeling and documentation.

• Create comprehensive raw material specifications for supplier training and internal use.

• Develop training manuals for production staff and facilitate training sessions.

• Collaborate with leadership on product traceability and the development of a Product Recall Plan.

• Prepare quarterly quality performance reports and maintain organized workspaces.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

• Strong service orientation and effective communication skills across all organizational levels.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while fostering a respectful workplace culture.

• Previous experience in a QA or QC role is essential; experience in the meat processing sector is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Valid driver's license required.

• High School diploma or GED with 1-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent education.
