Patient Experience Representative Job Summary
Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled Patient Experience Representative to join our team. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Encounter Management:
- Provide positive and effective customer service to support unit operations
- Collaborate with referring providers and practices
- Obtain required authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules
- Schedule patients and support the patient encounter
- Check In / Check Out:
- Greet and direct patients, families, and visitors
- Monitor daily schedule and coordinate flow with clinicians/supervisor
- Reconcile payments and prepare deposits, providing record of transactions in Hospital systems
- Facilitate and direct communication with Financial Counseling
- Administrative:
- Record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, initiate calls for emergency services
- Provide routine clerical support as needed
Requirements:
- A high school level of education, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
- The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
