About the Role

Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team. As a Concrete Finisher, you will play a critical role in the trenchless rehabilitation process, ensuring the smooth and efficient completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the company with professionalism and integrity, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Work effectively with supervisors and crew members to ensure successful inspections, cleanings, repairs, and rehabilitation of sewer, drain, and conduit pipes.
  • Check and set forms to ensure proper construction and alignment.
  • Spread, level, and smooth concrete using various tools and equipment.
  • Monitor the curing process of concrete, taking into account environmental factors such as wind, heat, and cold.
  • Mix cement, sand, and water to produce concrete, grout, or slurry.
  • Repair damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods, and position rods to repair concrete.
  • Wet and smooth concrete surfaces, and apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface.
  • Load materials and equipment into vehicles for transportation to and from the job site.
  • Assist equipment operators and enter manholes as necessary.
  • Ensure the site is left clean before the crew leaves.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience working in a physical labor position and/or outdoor construction preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime and out of town.
  • Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift over 50 lbs.
