Position Overview:
Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly skilled Electro-Optical Systems Engineer to contribute to the advancement of infrared sensor technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in the design and development of innovative infrared (IR) sensor products, enhancing both new and existing systems.
- Take charge of technical initiatives aimed at developing IR sensors for both Tactical and Space applications.
- Conduct EO/IR modeling to facilitate the validation of system concepts.
- Assume a leadership role in crafting technical execution plans, overseeing program tasks, and aiding in the management of schedules and budgets.
- Mentor and guide fellow engineers and technicians in optical tasks to ensure program objectives are met.
- Troubleshoot and debug systems effectively, providing technical guidance to production operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across various engineering disciplines to achieve project goals.
- Stay informed on technological advancements and industry best practices to continually enhance expertise.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or a related science field is required.

- Ability to lead technical teams effectively, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and performance targets.
- Familiarity with infrared sensor systems and associated mechanical and optical systems is essential.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a secret security clearance.
Preferred Skills:
- A Master's degree or PhD in a relevant discipline is advantageous.
- Knowledge of FPA manufacturing technologies and closed cycle cryogenic systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in MATLAB programming and experience with radiometric testing of IR systems are preferred.
- Understanding of reliability engineering principles and familiarity with electronics related to infrared technology is beneficial.
