Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Marion County team as a Mental Health Therapist 2 - Crisis and Diversion Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing assessment and treatment services, crisis intervention, and treatment services to individuals and their families with complex needs and diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor all individuals under civil commitment, while inpatient and in the community, and determine the necessity for and create trial visits.
  • Update trial visits and complete revocations when necessary, and complete all court and state documents and reports.
  • Attend court hearings and provide consultation and training to hospitals, community members, and agencies regarding the civil commitment process and procedures.
  • Perform post-commitment and investigations, as well as BRES services in various locations, including hospitals, correctional environments, private residences, community organizations, and other environments as needed.
  • Screen all referrals to the BRES program for appropriateness, provide intake evaluation, set service goals for clients' time in the program, and coordinate the use of Crisis Associates as needed for clients in BRES.
  • Connect clients with community services, including benefits, community case management, community counseling, alcohol and drug programs, vocational resources, medical resources, and ongoing medication.
  • Work closely with the Mental Health Specialist/Associates at Marion County Jail and Adult Behavioral Health, the Psychiatric Crisis Center, and the Diversion Team to create alternatives to psychiatric hospitalization.
  • Provide BRES Brief Counseling for clients on a limited, as needed basis, and provide community outreach as needed.
  • Participate in diversion program meetings weekly, provide case reviews of BRES clients, and discuss potential clients and services.
  • Provide weekly mental health groups to participants of Lotus House.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, or a behavioral science field; or Bachelor's degree in nursing, or occupational therapy and licensed by the State of Oregon.
  • One year of post-master's degree experience in the behavioral health field.
  • Preference will be awarded to candidates who are LCSW, CSWA, or eligible for LCSW.
  • Must be either licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers, or credentialed or registered through the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon (MHACBO) as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) within the first 30 days of employment.
