Job Summary:

The Oregon Department of Corrections is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional to join our General Population Behavioral Health Services team at the Oregon State Correctional Institution in Salem, Oregon. As a Behavioral Health Specialist 2, you will be responsible for identifying and assessing mentally ill and developmentally disabled adults in custody, coordinating regular contact, and providing crisis services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initial identification and assessment of mentally ill and developmentally disabled adults in custody
  • Crisis intervention and suicide prevention
  • Case management and treatment planning
  • Behavior management and relationship building with clients

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing or occupational therapy and licensure by the State of Oregon, or a Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in behavioral health services, or two years of experience with a Master's degree
