Job Title: Children Medical Services Administrator

Join the County of Alameda team as a Children Medical Services Administrator, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of children in our community.

About the Role:

This position is responsible for planning, developing, and administering programs and operations of the Children Medical Services (CMS) program, with a focus on children and youth with medical complexity. The ideal candidate will have expertise in addressing complex challenges, utilizing organizational assets to enhance performance, and exercising independent judgment within the scope of authority.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, monitor, and evaluate CMS programs
  • Provide programmatic, administrative, and visionary leadership
  • Analyze effectiveness of policies, procedures, operations, and interventions, and modify as needed to improve programmatic objectives
  • Exercise independent judgment within the scope of authority and practice
  • Oversee and review the work of professional, clinical, technical, and administrative personnel
  • Provide professional development and training to staff
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a social or physical science or closely related field
  • At least six years of full-time, progressively responsible, post-graduate, supervisory and administrative experience in a community organization, public agency, or clinical setting, including program planning, development, and evaluation, fiscal or personnel management
  • Two years of experience in the administration of healthcare-related programs for children and youth
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a social or physical science or closely related field
  • Experience in program management, budget development, and personnel management
  • Knowledge of current principles, best practices, and trends in service delivery systems, quality assurance, and continuous quality improvement
