About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Medical Service Chief and Vice Chair to join our team at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of our medical service, providing strategic direction, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight to our medical service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and the achievement of our clinical and operational goals.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance the patient experience.
  • Collaborate with our clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring the effective allocation of resources to support our clinical and operational goals.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing team of medical professionals, ensuring that we have the right people in the right roles to deliver exceptional patient care.
Requirements
  • Board certification in a relevant medical specialty.
  • Valid US medical license.
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of success in a similar role.
  • Eligibility for appointment as Associate or Full Professor at UCSF.
