Job Summary

THOR Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Diesel Lifecycle Engineering Representative to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the ship's crew in documenting and scheduling Diesel Engine maintenance actions, collecting engine performance data, and assisting with engine balancing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate diesel engine maintenance with the ship's maintenance team and regional maintenance centers.
  • Represent the ISEA at integrated project team development meetings, conferences, and work package reviews.
  • Maintain life cycle maintenance plans for assigned vessels.
  • Monitor vessels' life cycle maintenance, performance data, and reciprocating engine analysis testing compliance.
  • Coordinate to ensure that condition-based maintenance requirements are planned for upcoming availabilities.
  • Review and submit technical reports, work specifications, and maintenance procedures.
  • Evaluate departure from specification requests and submit to the appropriate technical authority for resolution.
  • Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure that parts and materials are available when needed.
  • Provide crew training in collecting engine performance data.
  • Assist the crew in engine balancing and grooming events.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent.
  • At least seven (7) years of US Navy Engineman or relevant maritime experience in the areas of Navy diesel propulsion and power generating systems.
  • Two (2) years of experience with the Diesel Maintenance Strategy (DMS) and Diesel Readiness System (DRS) programs.
  • At least two (2) years of experience with one of the following engine lines: Colt-Pielstick PC2.5, PA6B, FMOP 38 ND 8 1/8, or Caterpillar 3608.
  • Prior or current certification as a US Navy Fleet Diesel Engine Inspector (DEI) and/or an OEM Technical Service Representative.
  • Experience with Shipboard Automated Maintenance Manager (SAMM) software, diesel engine performance analysis (DEPA) data collection, and reviewing and analyzing engine data to provide technical recommendations.
  • Proficiency with common productivity software, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment.
  • May involve repetitive motion, periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments, and traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches).
Security Clearance

This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must either already possess an active or interim Secret security clearance or be eligible for a Secret security clearance upon hire.
