Are you a skilled diesel mechanic looking for a challenging and rewarding career? Do you have a passion for heavy equipment maintenance and repair? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Field Diesel Mechanic at United Rentals.

As a Field Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. You will travel to customer job sites to repair and maintain rental equipment, and assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed. You will also be responsible for maintaining paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed, and assisting with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced diesel mechanic who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You will have a strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools, as well as excellent customer service and communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner
  • Travel to customer job sites to repair and maintain rental equipment
  • Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed
  • Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed
  • Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • 3-5 years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and tools
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines
  • Must own tools applicable to position
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

The actual pay rate offered to candidates varies depending upon a wide range of factors including specific position, education, training, experience, skills, and ability.
