Job Summary:

Durham School Services, a subsidiary of National Express LLC, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic - Fleet Repair Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues with our fleet of diesel-powered vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure repairs are completed to a high standard
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and report any additional maintenance or repairs needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy-duty truck technician
  • Diagnostic, electrical, and AC skills are essential
  • Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment is required
  • Previous fleet experience and familiarity with diesel and gasoline systems are a plus
  • Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Valid applicable state license (CDL preferred)
