Job Description

The City of Chesapeake Human Resources is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Crisis Stabilization team, you will provide critical support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.

About the Role
  • Provide comprehensive assessments to determine medical necessity and client needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans focusing on client strengths and resources.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate care and ensure client safety.

In this role, you will work closely with our crisis intervention team to provide person-centered, trauma-informed care to individuals in need. Your expertise in the DSM-V, suicide risk assessment, and crisis intervention will be essential in ensuring that our clients receive the best possible support.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Masters degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum four years of full-time equivalent experience in behavioral health.
  • State of Virginia licensure as a Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Professional Counselor (LPC).
