Position Overview

The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences is on the lookout for a dedicated Research Associate to become part of Dr. Xiaoyan Zheng's Laboratory within the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology and the Cancer Center. The successful candidate will possess a solid foundation in cell biology and demonstrate a keen interest in exploring target genes influenced by the Hh signaling pathway. The primary objective of this research is to delve into the molecular dynamics of the Hh signaling pathway, particularly in relation to cell interactions and the movement of Hh receptors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute experiments within a regulated laboratory environment
  • Conduct Drosophila tissue dissection and in situ hybridization techniques
  • Interpret data and compile technical documentation
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including lab meetings and conferences
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required

Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Biology or a related field, with experience in Drosophila models being advantageous. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is essential.

Work Environment:

This position necessitates on-campus presence.

Hours:

Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Background Verification:
