About the Opportunity

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Associate to join our team of scientists investigating signaling pathways in cancer. As a Postdoctoral Associate, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary research environment and contribute to the development of innovative approaches to diagnostics and therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in the area of cancer biology, with a focus on signaling pathways and enzyme vulnerabilities
  • Develop and implement large-scale genetic, biologic, peptide, and small molecule approaches to define domains and specific molecular mechanisms
  • Collaborate with a team of scientists to design and execute experiments, and analyze data
  • Present research findings at seminars and conferences
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and manuscripts for publication

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a biological science such as cell biology, immunology, cancer biology, biochemistry, or related field
  • Self-motivated and curious experimentalist with a strong track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization in R
  • Experience with CRISPR screens, proteomics, or protein purification
