Position Overview:
The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences is in search of a dedicated Research Associate to become a vital part of Dr. Xiaoyan Zheng's Laboratory within the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology and the Cancer Center. The successful candidate will possess a solid foundation in cell biology and demonstrate a keen interest in exploring target genes influenced by the Hh signaling pathway. The primary objective of this research is to elucidate the molecular dynamics of Hh signaling in cellular interactions and the transport mechanisms of Hh receptors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute experiments within a regulated laboratory environment
- Conduct Drosophila tissue dissection and in situ hybridization techniques
- Interpret data and compile comprehensive technical reports
- Engage in scholarly activities including lab meetings and academic conferences
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required
Required Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Biology or a related field, particularly with experience in Drosophila models, is preferred. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is essential.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week, with a standard schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Work Environment:
On-campus presence is necessary for this role.
